London Lifestyle Awards 2012

“London’s Year”

On Wednesday 17th October 2012, over 550 businesses, celebrities and personalities from across London gathered at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham, London for the third annual London Lifestyle Awards, sponsored by the UK’s leading silver and diamond brand Hot Diamonds.

Hosted by Capital FM’s Greg Burns, the event was attended by a raft of household names including Arlene Phillips, Duncan Bannatyne, Dame Kelly Holmes, Brian Friedman, Sinitta, Olivia Hallinan, Kate Garraway, Jeremy Edwards, Lorraine Chase and Tyler James.

Guests arriving at the prestigious SW6 venue were greeted by a fleet of Jaguar cars with ten members of the Royal Air Force lining the red carpet before joining singer Rebecca Poole on stage as her choir. A lavish drinks reception sponsored by Zebrano and Pernod Ricard followed, before guests sat down to a three-course meal and entertainment by Peter Grant and Lizzie Deane’s band.

Among the award presenters were The X Factor’s creative director Brian Friedman, who awarded favourite celeb haunt Mahiki with the hotly contested ‘London Club of the Year’ accolade, while Blue singers Antony Costa and Simon Webbe took to the stage to present ‘London Bar of the Year’ (Salvatore’s) and ‘London Hotel of the Year’ (Sanctum Soho).

Dame Kelly Holmes was on hand to present L.O.C.O.G. with the ‘Outstanding Contribution to London’ award, with fellow Olympic gold medal winner Alex Gregory joining her on stage to resounding cheers from the crowd.

TV presenter Kate Garraway presented the new ‘London Coffee Shop of the Year’ award where The Haberdashery took home the crown, and singer Michelle Heaton awarded a triumphant Firmdale Hotels with the ‘London Hospitality Business of the Year’ award.

National treasure and the UK’s grand dame of dance Arlene Phillips was surrounded by her family and friends as she picked up a special surprise trophy naming her ‘London’s Lifestyle Legend’ celebrating her impressive career, and London Mayor Boris Johnson was awarded the ‘London Personality of the Year’ after having such a successful and influential input on the capital in 2012.
